Welcome
Changing Table Now is an application for the iPhone that interfaces with Google maps to provide on-demand information about nearby baby changing tables. The application was born in 2011 as the brainchild of Dr. Joanna Paul who was tired of going into restaurants and shops to change her baby only to find that they weren’t equipped. “After I had my first baby, I was so shocked to discover how many chains and family restaurants were not equipped with changing tables in their restroom facilities. I wished that there was a way to know which establishments had this service before I got my baby out of the car,” says Dr. Paul. In partnership with Quickshift Consulting, Dr. Paul created a solution for Moms & Dads to help them know where to go.
“Now that I have this, I cant live without it. I use it everyday.”
Using Google maps and gps functions of smart phones, the application provides the location of the nearest changing tables and, if desired, directions to the establishment. A search function will allow users to look for changing tables with additional features such as cleanliness ratings and “dad friendly”. The data set is user generated with purchasers adding locations at the click of a button. The market for the product includes parents of young children and other care-givers who want to know where to go. Currently, 2.6 million moms with children two years old and under own iphones. “Now that I have this, I cant live without it. I use it everyday,” says Virginia Duplessis, Bay Area Mom.
